Sarah Frances Holmes is a production designer, art director, and artist. Born and raised in South Carolina, Sarah earned her BA in Visual Arts and Film from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. There she completed the prestigious Yale Art Summer Session Abroad in Auvillar, France under the legendary Robert Reed. Sarah is passionate about creating worlds that serve as unique, immersive portraits of each character within a script and collaborating with each department to create and maintain a cohesive look. Story, intention, and values are most imperative when developing the look and feeling of a film, commercial, or series. As a woman and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Sarah is always looking for scripts that align with her values and guide the cultural discourse in a positive, progressive direction.

Sarah has nearly a decade of experience working on award-winning films, commercials, television, and music videos. Sarah’s narrative work has screened at over 50+ film festivals including Sundance, AFI Fest, LA Shorts, Hollyshorts, Palm Springs International Shortfest, FLICKERS Rhode Island International Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, and many more. Sarah was the production designer of the short film WAR PAINT, which premiered at Sundance and won the Grand Jury Prize at AFI Fest in 2018. Sarah also served as production designer on the short film Surrender, starring Andrea Bang and Keiko Agena, which was an official selection at the 2022 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Sarah’s art director credits include one of the longest-running television shows DAYS OF OUR LIVES as well as commercials for NBC, Mike’s Hard Seltzer, Jose Cuervo, HiSense TV featuring Joe McHale, and a Very Terry Christmas starring Terry Crews.

Sarah currently lives in Los Angeles with her adopted dog Shiloh and is a proud member of the Art Director's Guild.
